The Hank Levy Legacy Band, comprised of TU alumni and local jazz artists, presents a concert of the compositions of the late Hank Levy to benefit the visiting artists endowment in his name. Levy was known for his complex and intricate compositions written in odd time signatures. His interest in odd times predated the released of Dave Brubeck's "Time Out" album. Levy wrote many tunes that were popularized by the classic big bands of Stan Kenton and Don Ellis. Levy was also a well-known and much-loved faculty member who established the jazz program at Towson University as one of the most innovative in the country.
