Born in Trenton, New Jersey,SarahDashis the daughter of a pastor and a nurse; the late Elder AbrahamDashand the late Mother Elizabeth Dash.Sarahis the seventh child in a family of thirteen children.

Sarah, while still in high school, formed a group called the Del Capris. She asked another Trenton girl, Nona Hendryx, to join. Shortly thereafter,Sarahand Nona joined forces with the Ordettes, Patti Labelle and Cindy Birdsong, to become the Bluebelles and had their first hit I Sold My Heart to the Junkman.
She has sung with some of the greatest names in pop, rock and R&B – try The Rolling Stones, Alice Cooper, The Marshall Tucker Band, Laura Nyro, The O'Jays, Wilson Pickett and Bo Diddley among others.
